Place of my Vacation: The Lake of Constance
Excursion: Impressions of Vienna
Excursion: Impressions of London
"The Lake of Constance, situated in the very center of our continent, can be easily reached from all directions. It is so-called "Three Countries Lake", for Austria, Switzerland, and Germany share its fertile shores. The big and impressive lake is divided into three parts. The largest is the Obersee, then comes the Überlinger See, which cuts deeply into the land, and finally the romantic Untersee, through which the river Rhine continues on its way to the Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen. The lake, situated 400 m above sea-level, covers an area of 540 sq.km (76 km at its greatest length), and of Europe's largest lakes it is third in size."
From 1986 to 1997 I spent one or two weeks of my summer-holidays at the Lake of Constance every year...
