Various Vocal Ensembles and The King's Singers

Beneath my activities as a solo singer (see: My own Music and CDs) I always sang in different vocal groups - some for mixed voices, some only for women's voices.

Vokalensemble

In the years 1982 to 1985 in my (former) school existed a Vocal Ensemble for mixed voices - here during a recording for a  well-known German radio station in Frankfurt in 1983.

Cantando Cantabile in Riva

For nine years - from 1990 until 1999 - I belonged to the group Cantando Cantabile - here during an International Choir Competition in Riva del Garda / Italy in 1996, where we have been successful in the Madrigal-Class.

Cantando Cantabile and The King's Singers

A special highlight Cantando Cantabile had in 1994: We were chosen to join a masterclass for vocal ensembles with The King's Singers in a renowned German Music Festival in Lübeck / Schleswig-Holstein. Here's a photo: Cantando Cantabile together with the famous King's Singers.

Cantando EXTRAbile

Especially to participate again in a masterclass with the King's Singers in 1999 a quartet-selection of the bigger group was founded as a sub-section and was called Cantando EXTRAbile.

Cantando EXTRAbile and Phil

We have been so lucky to be chosen for this masterclass and be teached by the King's Singers in Lübeck in July 1999 - here in a rehearsal with Phil.

Short time after that a friend and I were working to construct a new quartet - this one again for mixed voices, but with me as female tenor. The project started with great promises, but then we had to put our project into cold storage for a longer time.

In recent years the music teacher colleagues of my school sang together a cappella during various school events - for example at our Christmas concert in 2013. I sing the tenor part most of the time. Unfortunately we don't have time to rehearse on a regular basis. But I enjoy singing with my colleagues a lot, because all of us are educated musicians and we have a high quality even without many rehearsals.

The King's Singers

are maybe the best vocal ensemble all over the world. The six Englishmen with two countertenors, one tenor, two baritones, and one bass have the wide sound of a mixed choir. They prefer a great variety of music: Their repertory contains music of the Renaissance, Romantic, 20th century, and also arrangements of popular music - everything performed with an unbelievable perfection. Since the foundation of the group in 1968 the members changed of course - the quality only changed from incredible good to even better.
